I love spending time at the coast, but not just during summer. I particularly like the North Sea during autumn when the temperatures wind down and the winds are getting stronger. It may not be time to go for a swim anymore during this time, but I love to walk along sandy beaches and almost get blown away. After getting back home, the typical black tea and waffles from the area taste even better when you come home after a long day in the cool, salty air.
The only downside is that you can only climb up the stairs of Amrum’s lighthouse during the summer months. So if you want to enjoy the views you may consider visiting during summer anyway.
